Boats stuck in Coventry Basin

LACK of rain is causing chaos for the waterways with boats stuck everywhere as it continues.

So perhaps being stuck in Coventry Canal Basin, as Roger Fox reports, is not too bad, with all facilities near by.

Running dry

Boats are stuck as its pumping supply from Griff Brook at Nuneaton is running dry leaving the massive pound to Atherstone and the Ashby short of water, with reports of other boats being grounded in the undredged sections.

An effort is being made to supply the Coventry from the Oxford Canal, but this too is reported as being low, as is the Ashby.
