Keeping boats moving—on an empty pound!

THE Canal & River Trust really mean to keep boats moving these days—even when no water in the pound!
That is what it tells of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal below Marsden, Keith Gudgin reports.
'Navigation Open'
The trust's stoppage notice tells 'Navigation Open' at Lock 40E but then goes on to tell that the pound has been drained due to a faulty paddle that had collapsed!
How boats are able to cruise on an empty pound is not told.
Not sure of the situation at present as this occurred on Tuesday.
