Man pulled out of Salford Quays

POLICE pulled a man out of Salford Quays yesterday morning when alerted by an emergency call.

It is understood he was on a mobility scooter when he entered the water, with the emergency services pulling the man out, believed to be in his 60s, Keith Gudgin reports.

Pronounced dead

Despite the efforts of paramedics near the Lowry Theatre he was later pronounced dead.

The police were seen bagging various items and together with the mobility scooter loaded them into a van.

The cordon erected around the scene were later removed. No statement has been issued as to the man's identity.
