Futile act ruined the grass

I took a photogrph in the pouring rain on the way to Nantwich last year, writes Brian Jarrett.
I sent it to Canal & River Trust pointing out the stupidity of carrying out this futile act of mowing the mud.
Stop grass re-establishing
I pointed out the only thing it would achieve was to compact the soil and stop the grass re-establishing. Also, they were cutting the coarse grasses that are on the towpaths too short!
I've just taken this photograph at the same location. I rest my case.
Why don’t they listen to us?
