Canals closed to canoes and fishing

THE Canal & River Trust has now closed its waterways to both canoes and fishing.

This is already in effect, meaning such as paddleboards, canoes and the like are banned as well as anglers, Keith Gudgin reports.

But his picture below of a canoeist that passed his boat yesterday (Tuesday) shows they are either not obeying, not aware or just don't care—probably all three he remarks!  And plenty of towpath visitors too!
