THE Canal & River Trust stoppage notices have reach a new low!

It tells: Please be advised third party contractors will be onsite to carry out a detailed inspection of Bridge 1, Hurleston Bridge, on the Macclesfield Canal.

Mind you, its stoppage notice concerning another bridge, this time on the Oxford Canal, had us confused with it stating "the guillotine lock", which it was not, so being completely unable to understand we removed it, but a couple of you managed to decipher it correctly.

Boaters tell us that the stoppage notices nowadays keep them entertained, wondering what will be next!
