FOR the sixth time in six years Selby Swing Bridge over the tidal Ouse has failed.

Canal & River Trust state that the bridge will not be 'passable' until it has been repaired, Keith Gudgin reports.

The problem is to be assessed and hopefully rectified in the near future.

Occurs yearly

As we have previously published this occurs yearly, and is keeping up the trend, having failed, on the 6th December 2019, 19th December 2018, 15th March 2017, 5th February 2016 and 6th November 2015.

It takes varying lengths of time to repair.

The swing bridge has been repaired quickly and is now back in action.
