Two awards for rescuing woman from canal

A POLICE officer who rescued a woman from the Wolverhampton Level has been given two awards.

It was way back in November 2018 that Pc Walters saw the woman in the water, jumped in and dragged her out, other officers calling the emergency services with paramedics attending then the woman taken to hospital with hypothermia, where she survived, Alan Tilbury reports.

Testimonial

Pc Walters was awarded a Royal Humane Society Testimonial for saving her life, but has now received a further commendation.

The incident occurred at Bentley Bridge near Wednesfield on the canal.
