Floods affect canal at Banbury

FLOOD water from the Cherwell is flooding into the Oxford Canal at Banbury.
This is causing fluctuating levels of the waterway throughout the town, as the Cherwell is overtopping its banks over long sections, Alan Tilbury reports.
Waterlogged
The water is streaming across a car park of a new development, over the towpath that has become waterlogged and into the canal.
Parts of the canal bank and towpath have been eroded and will require attention after the flood water recedes completely.
