Getting on like an house on fire

IT SEEMS one hand obviously doesn't know what the other is doing at CaRT.

Lock 4 at Hurleston on the Llangollen is closed until next March, and yet we have a stoppage notice telling Hurleston Bridge is a;so closed to navigation, Keith Gudgin reports,

As the bridge is only 100 yards from the lock stoppage, so no one is going to be on that bit of canal anyway!

Work their socks off

However Linda Andrews tells us contractors Keir workers are getting on like a house on fire, they turn up at the crack of dawn (literally) and work their socks off all day.

They even turned in on the weekend to make sure everything was ready to start dismantling the lock on Monday morning.
