Divorcees responsible for boat surge

ACCORDING to a report, it is divorced men that is causing the surge in boat living in the capital.

A spokesman for Riverhomes, a waterside property agency, told that 70% of her clients are divorced men looking for cheaper accommodation as after a divorce settlement there is usually not enough money left to get back on to the property market, Roger Fox reports.

Sense of community

The spokesman added that there is a real sense of community amongst them in London seeking to relive the bachelor life.

Canal & River statistics show that there has been an increase of 76% in boat living in the capital since 2012, it resulting in it now being very difficult to find moorings, and the reason it is believed why more are being created, as demand increases.
