Sheffield Swingbridge fails again and again

WE HAVE lost count of how many times Sheffield Swingbridge on the Kennet & Avon Canal has been out of action—three times this week alone!

This bridge (19) has lost its power three times this week, the last time today, Thursday, and is proving somewhat of a burden to boaters, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Problems

From its bearings needing replacing, its traffic lights not working to various other problems, with mostly losing its power, as it has done this week, it is somewhat of a problem to Canal & River Trust, all too often having to send out people to examine.

Perhaps it is time for a good overall.
