It is indeed great news for the Montgomery Canal but I think your article is not very well informed about the restoration work that has and is being undertaken on the canal.
The monthly work parties continuing to progress to Crickheath are undertaken by the Shropshire Union Canal Society and usually have about 20 workers on each of three working days Fri/Sat/Sunday.
These people come from as far away as Devon/Pembrokeshire and even Newcastle month in, month out. I think their continual efforts should at least get a mention especially as the picture of the restoration work-party is indeed a typical SUCS work-party.
