Taking the credit

THERE is an article in the IWA Towpath Telegraph on the Red Lion pub at Fenny Lock, which has been recently refurbished, writes Martin Brooks. IWA grandee Rodney Evans claims sole credit for this refurbishment, claiming that he has lobbied the owners, Punch Taverns, to make this happen. This is categorically not the case.

Real ale house

The refurbishment occurred because of the hard work of the landlord, Guy Plumb, who has taken this once run-down pub and turned it into a respected real ale house, winning CAMRA pub of the year 2012!

Guy has taken on a new lease on the premises, and hopefully he will continue the good work.

The IWA have had no influence on this process, the erstwhile Rodney Evans does not use the pub.
