THE works of engineers Jones & Attwood by the side of the Stourbridge Canal is being offered to developers, who will demolish the buildings to erect housing.

The company, Halls Wilkins, handling the sale, is expecting the old works, that are no longer 'fit for purpose' to raise somewhere in the region of £2.5 millions.

Developers interested

Is it expected that the sprawling buildings will be demolished to make way for a mixed use of houses and light commercial properties, with many developers interested.

Most of the buildings, that take up over three acres, are in a poor state of repair, and were the headquarters of the engineering company, Jones & Attwood, that were major employers in the town in the past. The company still operate small scale  engineering at the site, but would relocate to other premises once a sale was made.

The part fronting the Stourbridge Canal contains a disused weighbridge.
