A MAN who was robbed was subsequently found drowned in the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal in Gloucester.

Vladislav Belicza was found in the waterway just days after he had been robbed after being attacked by the canal, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Discharged himself

He had been living rough with his partner in a shed by the docks, and shortly before his death had discharged himself from hospital suffering from acute pancreatitis.

He was easy to trace as he still had his hospital tag attached to his wrist after being pulled from Gloucester Docks. The coroner stated that he could have collapsed from alcoholism or heart disease, so recorded an open verdict.
