Email: Lifestyle choice

In reply to Mr Foster and also in agreement with Gillie Rhodes, most people do not live on boats because its cheaper.

Those that I speak to tend to move on as a lifestyle choice as Gillie pointed out.

Many I ask where are these moorings that Mr Foster says people should move to? They are not around here, and if there were any they would cost far more then the average person would want to pay.

Who were the rules made for and for what purpose? We the boaters, be it continuous cruisers, hire boater or marina moored boater are the end user, so surely the rules should be made to fit the needs of the people using them and not the other way round?

BW/CART blindly followed the rules, albeit with lax enforcement, and we have ended up with a high proportion of boaters having to break those rules. We have a new broom in CART so perhaps we could look at what our actual needs are and get them sorted, for as things are the system is not working, and cannot work in the face of opposition from of thousands of boaters.
