Misinformation on boating

A RECENT survey is promoting untrue information about the state of boating on the waterways.

The Water Sports and Leisure Participation Survey tells us that the participation in canal boating was up 0.21%, which was the result of findings from all types of boating, including yacht racing and power boats.

Reduction

However, British Waterways' own figures show a reduction from the published figure of 32,000 down to '28,805 boaters available to vote....' over a year.

The report was commissioned by the Royal Yachting Association  consortium.
