THOUGH £90,000 has just been spent on the Staff & Worcs Canal, alas not on leaking lock gates for the waterway but to improve the towpath.

The scheme, includes a ramp for cyclists leading down to a three miles stretch of new canal towpath at Tettenhall by Hordern Road Bridge (62a), and marks the end of a six months project.

Voluntary group

Bins, benches and signs have also been installed, with a voluntary group working with British Waterways, Wolverhampton City Council and the Wildside Activity Centre on the project.
