Email: Scandalous not using canal

Published: Saturday, 10 March 2012

IT IS scandalous that use of the canal was not even considered to move these concrete units. ['Ideal' canal ignored in favour of lorries—narrowboatworld 9/03/12.]

The original intention was to move them the two miles by rail, but an increase in the amount of spoil to be moved out by rail means that the siding space is just not there for the incoming units.

The canal could not be better placed. Canalside at both ends and a lock free pound. What more could they ask for?
