Costs are rising

ANOTHER boater cannot understand the reasoning of the National Association of Boat Owners, and its no significant rise in boating costs statement.

If I only did three quarters of the boating I did in the past, and cut down on maintenance yet it just cost me the same, it is obviously to anyone with an ounce of sense that overall costs have gone up, as they have, regular contributor James Henry writes.

I know my costs have risen, and there are all sorts of things that you have to spend money on, that are all more expensive, and I notice pump-outs were not mentioned, and having a fairly small holding tank and virtually living on my boat, they are for ever rising in cost. There are big outlays that many make who look after their boats and want to keep their re-sale price up, such as having it repainted, and the quote I had had me in shock at over £4,000, over double that of six years ago.  Did any of those reporting take any account of that? Or were they all owners of those scruffy boats that litter the waterways.

I could go on, but boaters who use their boats, like me, live in the real world, and that statement from NABO is stupid.
