Water Control

PERHAPS I have missed something, but, asks Brian Holmes...

If the use of locks controlling water levels above the locks to the summit level of the Oxford Canal and the use of locks at Hillmorton are being restricted, what happened to the millions of pounds that were spent on installing back pumping to prevent this ?

Come to a standstill

It only needs a recalcitrant boater to sabotage the flights at Hawkesbury or Calcutt and the whole Midlands system will come to a standstill.

I would write to 'Waterscrape' if I thought that they knew one end of a lock from another.

Run 'the Trust'

If this is British Waterways in action, then Bill Sinclair of the Millstone article today [Wednesday] and his likes are the people who understand and would be able to run 'the Trust'.

And I bet it wouldn't be as expensive.
