Drinkers sparked emergency operation

THREE drinkers leaping into the Ouse from a pub garden in York sparked off a full emergency operation after the men were seen in the water.

The three, who were all in their 20's were seen in the river, and the emergency services were alerted, which brought both the fire service, police and ambulance services to the scene at the Pitcher and Piano pub.

The shame-faced three managed to get themselves out of the river, but paid the price—all three were arrested and taken into custody.
