Unprovoked towpath attack

THERE was an unprovoked attack on a woman earlier this week on the Llangollen Canal towpath at Hindford.
The woman suffered head injuries after she was the victim of a hammer attack by another woman as she walked along the canal towpath after leaving the Jack Mytton pub, Alan Tilbury reveals.
Hammer found
The attacker was going in the opposite direction, when she struck the victim on the head several times in an apparently unprovoked attack, with a hammer found at the scene by the police.
The injured woman managed to get away and get help from a moored narrowboat owner, who telephoned the emergency services.
