Another Regent's towpath stabbing

Published: Monday, 21 February 2011

THE warning to boaters cruising the Regent's Canal in our Grand Union Waterways Hire Guide of its dangers was brought home with the news that another man has been stabbed on the towpath at Camden Locks.

It was last week that a man walking with two others on the towpath by the locks was approached by four men, who first carried on walking then one returned and stabbed him in the chest, resulting in  him  needing  hospital treatment, but he is reported to be in a stable condition, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Towpath cordoned off

This happened after the three had spent time in the Black Cap in Camden High Street, and were walking home along the towpath. An ambulance was called, with the police once again having  cordoned off the towpath as a crime scene whilst evidence was gathered.

The four men are described as black, and aged between 20 and 25, with Detective Inspector Les Newman, telling that it was a cowardly and unprovoked attack on three innocent males making their way home.
