Towpath closed for month

THE towpath North of Audlem on the Shropshire Union Canal will be closed for the whole of March due to resurfacing work.
Around 700 yards of towpath from Bridge 80 southwards will be closed off from Monday 28th February to the end of March to make better access to the village, Alan Tilbury tells us.
No mooring
During this time mooring will not be allowed along the stretch of waterway, which gets extremely muddy in wet weather.
Mechanical equipment will be in use on the towpath during the works which will prevent access. There will be no alternative route around the closure. With work boats also being used, boaters can expect short delays at times.
