IT WAS yesterday, Wednesday 15th, that Canal & River Trust told that the Harecastle Tunnel was open.
Which must have meant the rescue boat was back, as the tunnel cannot operate without it—hence the tunnel closure when the rescue boat suffered a snapped rudder, Keith Gudgin reports.
At the same time the trust tells us:
'We're pleased to advise the rescue boat will be fixed today, and should be in the water by tomorrow morning' going on to add: 'The tunnel will therefore be open again on Wednesday 15th November'.
So fixed today the 15th and in the water tomorrow the 15th!
But which is? And still no clear notice if it is open or still closed?
