Wood End Lift Bridge woes continue

WOOD END Lift Bridge on the Peak Forest Canal is closed yet again.

This time it is an hydraulic pump fitted to the bridge that has failed, Keith Gudgin reports.

This is one of the two pumps that work the bridge, that has put it out of action.

Many failures

During the year there have been many failures of this bridge and once for weeks until the bridge was finally given a complete makeover during September, that was supposed to cure it's breakages.

But obviously not.

Contractors have attended but did not have the replacement part that was needed.
