Weaver in a mess

WE HAVE at last managed to get to our boat on the Weaver, writes June Brown.

This was after long-running repairs, but that is another story!

In a mess

The river is in a mess and there doesn't seem to be any care about it, as locks are not working as they should and a swing bridge (though this doesn't bother us) is not working.

Talking to other boaters moored here it seem the Weaver is forgotten what with the problems with the [Anderton] lift that is closed some days and ongoing problems with the locks that are constantly needing attention.

It seems to me that people are being discouraged as the lift was closed last winter and I have reason to believe it will be closed this winter too.
