No permanent repair for Fradley Swing Bridge

IT IS well known around Fradley that its swing bridge is in need of permanent repair, writes Dom Grant.

The bridge 'jolts' when you move it and is difficult to get started even though only a foot bridge, not helped by those who play around with it.

Something worn-out

But mentioning this at the nearby café, the gossip there is that something is worn-out where it pivots and the bridge wants taking out and repairing, but this is too expensive a job so that from time to time when it gets stuck, workers come out to it and do a bodge.

[When we passed through earlier this month we found it awkward to move both times, and does need some permanent repair.]
