Body pulled out of Ashton Canal

IT WAS a dog walker seeing a body in the the Ashton Canal that alerted the emergency services.

They rushed to the location on the waterway, discovering a body in the water with the police pulling it to the towpath, Keith Gudgin reports.

After examination it was discovered that it was the body of a man but the paramedics were unable to revive him.

This occurred at Droylsden early Saturday morning, with a screen covering the towpath that was taped off by the police.
