THE Northampton Arm has low water yet again, writes Martyn Cox.
I've been waiting for three hours now. I can see a boat that has grounded not much further than the entrance of the arm at Northampton.
There are more boats near there waiting. I am breasted next to another boat also waiting more than me.
'Dealing with the issue'
We rang the CRT and have been told they are dealing with the issue. My question is, this problem has been going on now for years and we are told it's because of people leaving paddles open, vandalism etc.
Isn't it about time the CRT invested in rectifying this issue with CCTV cameras and various methods of keys and securing the paddles and gates as we boaters pay enough licence fees.
I know the CRT have their works programs every year but surely this long-standing problem can be rectified with a little thought and some of our annual fees we pay.
