Caldon still silted-up

THE Caldon Canal still remains silted-up where it joins the the river section.

It was told the canal was silted up on the 7th April and would take a week to clear, Keith Gudgin reports.

Not cleared

But it has still not been cleared for it seems Canal & River Trust are still working on assembling a dredging team to clear the silt.

This means of course the waterway is still closed until the dredging team can be assembled.

A boater tells us that boats with draughts 2.6ft or less are managing to get through—though this before the recent rain.
