Quick repair to swing bridge

THERE was a quick repair to Snaygill Swing Bridge (181) on the Leeds & Liverpool over the weekend.
It broke down on Saturday owing to failure of the swinging mechanism Keith Gudgin reports.

This time it was quickly repaired and is now open again for navigation.
Looking back over the past few years through narrowboatworld, the stoppages caused by broken swing bridges on the Leeds & Liverpool are Crabtree (twice), Niffany (three times), New Lane, Snaygill, Methodist, Micklethwaite and Bell's Lane.
