Cannot cruise all year long

MOST people seem to think that 'any of us can cruise all year long if we have mind to—that's what the licence allows', writes John Sadler.

Not according to British Waterways. I’m guessing that CaRT have not changed the conditions otherwise with the current stoppages there would be a lot of claims.

Limited four miles for three months

During the replacement of a swing bridge on the Sharpness Canal, those boaters with a mooring in Sharpness were limited to a cruise of four miles for an estimated three months.

We were informed by British Waterways that the licence only allows you to have a boat on the water, therefore we were not entitled to a reduction of licence.
