Calder & Hebble closed

THE Calder & Hebble is presently closed to navigation.
The gates on Brighouse Bottom Lock (12) are at present inoperable due to structural damage, Keith Gudgin reports.
Inoperable
These gates became inoperable yesterday, Wednesday, with the navigation closed until further notice.
An engineer is expected to arrive to examine the problem when it is expected notice will be given of the possible length of the stoppage.
