Going backwards now!

THE Canal & River Trust have perhaps discovered a new way of handling stoppages—doing them backwards!

We are told that work is progressing on 'Battyeford' on the Calder & Hebble from Monday 5th December to Thursday 1st December, Keith Gudgin reports.

Four days

At least it is only taking four days to repair the broken sluice instead of a working week, but going backwards perhaps makes the normal one day job now four days!  Whatever next?

At least the work is now completed and the navigation open.
