The 'Wink' blinked again

THE Winkwell Swing Bridge on the Grand Union Canal has failed again.

It gave up the ghost yesterday Friday, but this time it was not a two days job, or more, to repair but done the same day, Keith Gudgin reports.

'Navigation closed'

Though the stoppage notice informing of this tells 'Navigation: closed'!

Things are improving for this Hemel Hempsted swing bridge as this is only the third time it has failed this year, and there was a period when it was failing much more.
