Unsafe condition of Ashby Canal edging

EDGING stones along the Ashby Canal are being reported as breaking-off being in unsafe condition.

These are falling into the waterway leaving obstructions for boats that could cause damage, with the image showing one at Nutt's Bridge (16) by Hinckley Wharf on the waterway.

Particularly dangerous

This is particularly dangerous as just by the bridge, meaning that boats will be very near the sides when navigating through the reduced width of the waterway through the bridge hole.

It was reported earlier this month, but understood not yet to have been cleared.
