Mercia supporting Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal

MERCIA Marina on the Trent & Mersey Canal is supporting the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal for Ukraine.

The  marina tells it is matching pound for pound any donations received to help families in Ukraine avoiding the bombs and bullets and so rather need it rains down much needed aid money.

The target is £10,000 with progress and rallying support messages appearing on social media regularly to enlist the help of all who will kindly donate. The campaign started on Friday and already with Mercia matching the donations was already up to £2,940 at 9am this morning.

The funds are donated through the JustGiving page, going straight to the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

Aid desperately needed

Tony Preston at the marina explains:

"We are super pumped-up to be able to help anyway we can, and matching donations will contribute to getting to our £10,000 target quickly as aid is so desperately needed. We have more than 14,000 followers on Facebook alone so we are confident we will get there, and every click and contribution is so important and sincerely appreciated”
