Massive regeneration by Walsall Canal

THERE is to be massive regeneration by the side of Walsall Canal.

Specialist contractors have moved on site to commence remediation work for the £100m development of warehouses on a 44 acre brown site by the side of Walsall Canal, Roger Fox reports.

It is believed this large development of warehouses can only improve the Walsall Canal which is not known for its landmarks, but unfortunately, none of the information tells anything about what is being proposed for the canal frontages.

Contractor John F Hunt is to start demolition of the former James Bridge Copper Works in Walsall that has been disused for two decades.

Remediation is expected to conclude in early 2024, with construction beginning shortly afterwards.

The project is to build 620,000 sq ft of space in the form of five shed projects, with it told it will be one of the largest and most complex regeneration projects underway in the Midlands and will offer the region a huge boost in creating new jobs and helping to build a thriving economy.
