Figure of Three bank washed away

THE bank that was constructed when the Figure of Three locks were rebuilt has been washed away.

The Calder & Hebble locks were washed away in a storm and rebuilt with the navigation reopened in March of last year, but the bank obviously had no time to 'settle' as the recent flood has washed it away, Keith Gudgin reports.

Towpath closed

This is the bank below the lock that carries the towpath that is now closed to pedestrians. There is no intimation as to whether the navigation is closed on not.
