Saltersford lock fails yet again

FOLLOWING the repair to Saltersford Lock three weeks ago it is out of action yet again.

It was only three weeks ago that the lock on the Weaver was repaired after another failure but now it has a fault with a gate, Keith Gudgin reports.

Caused last failure

It was a faulty gate that caused the last failure, but we are not informed if it is the same one, just that it is a 'repair', as was the fault in late January.

The lock has an history of failures, with it being closed for five weeks in 2021 with a broken collar and before this in November of 2019 after a void was discovered.
