A quick blink for the Wink!

THE Winkwell Swing Bridge on the Grand Union was repaired in a couple of days, so a quick blink for the Wink.

This swing bridge at Hemel Hempstead is vying with Coxhead Swing Bridge on the Leeds & Liverpool for being the most breaking down, both having closed so many times over the years it is impossible to calculate.

Coxhead however had a major repair in 2019, whilst Winkwell just gets a quick mend, but perhaps the powers that be will take pity and stop the constant stoppages to boaters with perhaps 'a method of repair' that will cure it once and for all...

The other two bridges that failed, Hancocks on the Leeds & Liverpool and Wrenbiry on the Llangollen were both quickly repaired.
