35mph speedsters on the Thames

THE newest extreme sport, Efoil, is motorised surfing on such as the Thames.

Such a motorised hydrofoil is capable of speeds of up to 35mph.

British Olympic snowboarder, Aimee Fuller, took to the Thames to test one of the motorised boards, with people now asking if they could become the new mode of transport in the city.

The actual board is lifted above the water when driven by the motorised hydrofoil underneath the surface.

How this can relate to the 13.9mph speed limit on the tidal Thames or the 4.9mph limit on the non-tidal, is not revealed, but should these take off on the navigational rivers there are certainly going to be some problems.
