Nothing new

WHEN I read a recent article in the Guardian it implied this statement was from CaRT, writes Ralph Freeman.

It stating 'There are more boats on our canals now than at the height of the industrial revolution'.

Rang a bell

Now that sentence rang a bell in my memory, so I did a quick search online and found the following in a Guardian article would you believe dated Sat 26 Feb 2005!

'There are more boats now than there were in the heyday of working canals'.

That comment was attributed to a boater named Mr McCabe who at that time was secretary of the Narrowboat Trust.

Seven years before it came into being

Very similar I think you will agree. So is CaRT claiming credit for something that was true seven years before it came into being?

Nice to see recycling is being taken seriously!
