A little exaggeration?

THE stoppage at Lock 10E on the Huddersfield Narrow was caused by a 'blockage in the tail paddle'.

The work was completed quicker than expected with Canal & River Trust telling that it had removed half a sofa and a shopping trolley from the paddle, Keith Gudgin reports.

Exaggeration

It would seem rather an exaggeration of half a sofa and a shopping trolley being 'a blockage in the paddle' however, as Keith suggests, they being hardly wide enough for a traffic cone.

There were also two manhole covers found in the lock that have also been removed.
