Towpath a bit of a mess

MANY boaters are too aware that the Oxford Canal towpath often leaves much to be desired.

Especially in winter its towpaths do not qualify to the usual Canal & River Trust's claims, being little but 'seas' of mud.

Should be somewhat better

Even by places such as Rugby, where they should be somewhat better, the towpath is a 'bit of a mess' as Brian Jarrett's photograph shows the one at nearby Brownsover.

At least the important sign board is brand new, though there is nothing on it!
