Another swing bridge fails

AND you will be able to guess where the failure is—the Leeds & Liverpool of course!

This time it is Maghull Swing Bridge, but  Canal & River Trust has named it just Maghull Bridge, leaving the 'Swing' description off as Keith Gudgin reports.

Needs real attention

This swing bridge, like so many others on the navigation, needs some real attention, for it has failed once already this year on the 6th August, and last year there were reports of its failure on the 29th February, 17th October and 18th of November.

We are told teams will be on site today, and luckily able to allow passage whilst in attendance.
