Coxhead Swing Bridge re-opens

AFTER its latest stoppage Coxhead Swing Bridge is repaired and fully operational again.

It was on a booking system all last week, whereby boaters could apply for an appointment for a worker to be at the bridge on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal to operate it and so allow the boat to progress, Keith Gudgin reports.

Boaters wary

The bridge has failed time after time and is affecting boaters their being wary of being able to get through, hence the new system of appointments that allowed progress.

However it is once again workable by boaters, and perhaps this time the reoccurring fault has been finally fixed.
